Summary

We are recruiting into a Statutory Mental Health Act Team Manager post and are eager to find someone with the vision and motivation which matches that of the service. We have a unique Team that covers the city 24/7 365 days a year. andnbsp;

As a Team Manager, you will take a strengths-based approach to working in partnership with people and work effectively within the existing integrated models of working in the city. You will be able evidence your commitment and social work value base, to create positive outcomes for vulnerable adults in the city and their families and carers. You will have a willingness to take a flexible approach to meet changing demands of Adult Social Care and Health partners.



Applications are invited from professionally qualified social work staff with substantial experience as an Approved Mental Health Professional. Experience of working within a busy Statutory Mental Health Team is required. andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;This is an excellent opportunity to work in a leadership position. The successful candidate will certainly be able demonstrate working knowledge of the legislative framework and key areas of policy.

Main Duties:

- Managing a team of social work staff who are qualified Approved Mental Health Professionals who undertake consideration and completion of Mental Health Act assessments

- Supervising, development and mentoring of staff.

- Multi agency work and close partnership work with customers, carers and other partners.

- Promote integration with Health partners

- Working with adults detained under Part 3 of the Mental Health Act.

Successful Candidates will have:

- Excellent communication skills; a positive approach to strengths based social work and working in partnership with people

- Experience working within a busy Statutory Mental Health team and the ability to meet targets and deadlines, including performance management and a positive proactive approach to continuous professional development.

- Experience of supporting and motiving team members with sound supervisory experience.

- Working knowledge of Care Act, Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act and relevant legal and national policy frameworks.



A minimum of 5 years post qualifying experience and be SWE registered.



This post is exempt from the rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore will be subject to a DBS check from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
