We Do What We Say and We Care
That’s why we need people like you, to help us deliver on our promises.

We're proud to partner with South East Water and we are offering an exciting opportunity for a Highways Manager to join our team. In this key role, you’ll lead and manage all highway activities across our water infrastructure projects—ensuring work is expertly planned, coordinated, and delivered in line with local authority regulations, safety standards, and customer expectations.

Below are just some of the tasks you’ll be involved in:

  • Manage the planning, permitting, and delivery of all highway works for South East Water projects, including reinstatements, traffic management, and emergency repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with NRSWA, permit schemes, and local authority regulations, tracking and escalating permits as needed.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, councils, and utilities to minimise disruption and meet deadlines.
  • Identify and address risks and opportunities to improve highways delivery.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for highways-related matters with South East Water, local authorities, and the public.
  • Communicate with customers to resolve issues quickly and minimise impact.
  • Support community engagement and represent Clancy and South East Water at public meetings when required.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team, driving continuous improvement.
  • Monitor KPIs and performance metrics, providing regular updates to stakeholders.

We would love to hear from you if…

You have previous experience as a highways professional within the utilities or water sector. You will have strong knowledge of NRSWA, traffic management, reinstatement standards, and relevant legislation such as the Highways Act and CDM Regulations. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, along with the ability to lead teams and manage multiple projects. A full UK driving licence and relevant qualifications, such as NRSWA Supervisor, are required.
