Position Title: Teaching Assistant

Salary: Scale 1A point 2 From £24, 366

Hours: 32.5 Fixed term until 31st August 2026

The Governors at Willow Tree Primary School are seeking to appoint a caring, passionate and highly motivated Level 1 Teaching Assistant to join our successful, friendly and inclusive school. The successful applicant will be part of the Early Years team and as such will work alongside teachers and the Special Educational Needs Coordinator to support identified children in their learning. We are an excellent school committed to the highest quality education and professional development where we nurture our whole school community to be curious, respectful and aspirational individuals.

You will also be required to support teaching staff during outside learning sessions and required to provide lunchtime supervision.

The successful candidate will need to be able to:

  • Form positive relationships and communicate effectively with children, parents and staff
  • Work effectively as part of a team and have a positive work ethos
  • Provide quality interactions with children and promote purposeful play
  • Show flexibility in their approach and use their own initiative to improve outcomes for all children
  • Support children with Special Educational Needs
  • Demonstrate that they have high expectations for behaviour whilst promoting fair and inclusive practises
  • Show a commitment to their professional development
  • Be resilient and physically fit

Previous experience of working in the Foundation Stage and having a sound knowledge of phonics, the Foundation Stage Profile and curriculum is highly desirable.
