Summary
We are seeking a proactive and responsible Retail Store Manager to oversee our convenience store operations, which includes the sale of off-licence products. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is customer-focused, and has the drive to lead a small team efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Daily Store Operations:
Ensure smooth opening and closing procedures, maintain operational standards, and uphold store cleanliness and organisation at all times.
Team Supervision & Support:
Lead and motivate team members, provide on-the-job training, delegate tasks efficiently, and maintain high staff morale to support a positive working environment.
Stock Management:
Monitor inventory levels, handle stock orders, and coordinate with suppliers to ensure product availability while minimising waste or overstock.
Customer Service Excellence:
Deliver friendly and professional service, resolve customer concerns promptly, and uphold a positive reputation within the local community.
Cash Handling & Reporting:
Accurately manage tills, perform end-of-day cash-ups, ensure secure banking, and maintain financial records as per company policy.
Compliance & Licensing:
Adhere to legal regulations regarding the sale of age-restricted products (e.g. alcohol, tobacco) and ensure staff are also compliant through appropriate training and supervision.
Candidate Requirements:
Strong organisational and leadership abilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and problem-solve on the spot
Education: RQF Level 6 or above
Previous retail management experience is preferred but not essential
Full training will be provided
Other Requirements:
Must be flexible to work varied shifts, including weekends and evenings
Applicants must not have any unspent criminal convictions

A DBS check may be required depending on the nature of the conviction
