Job Title: CDP / Pastry Chef
Location: Central Kent
Salary: £12.00 – £14.00 per hour
Working Pattern: Term-time only (35 weeks), 40 hours per week
Schedule: Monday to Friday, daytime hours, occasional match teas and hospitality events

About the Role:

We are currently seeking a skilled CDP or Pastry Chef to join our team at a prestigious independent day school located in central Kent.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate chef with pastry and baking experience who enjoys working in a structured and supportive environment. The role is term-time only, giving you excellent work-life balance, and involves a mix of core service, hospitality events, and match teas throughout the academic year.

You’ll work with fresh, seasonal ingredients and be part of a collaborative kitchen team that values creativity, high standards, and consistency.



Job Description

  • Prepare high-quality pastry items and assist with daily food prep using fresh, seasonal ingredients

  • Support delivery of hospitality and match teas throughout the school year

  • Maintain excellent food hygiene and allergen management standards

  • Work collaboratively within a professional kitchen team

  • Monday–Friday, term-time only (35 weeks), with a great work-life balance



Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a CDP or in a pastry-focused role

  • Confident in preparing a wide range of desserts, bakes, and plated sweets

  • Strong understanding of allergen management and food safety

  • A genuine passion for fresh, seasonal food

  • Reliable, enthusiastic, and a strong team player
