Summary

At Bath & North-East Somerset Council, our purpose is clear: to improve people’s lives.

Join our Supported Living Service and help adults with learning disabilities and/or autism live independently, confidently, and with dignity.

We are looking for a support worker to be based in one of our Connections Location on a full-time basis on a permanent contract. This role is for 37 hrs hours per week (one post available) and involves a rota system which includes working every other weekend with some bank holidays for which enhancements are paid.

About the Role

Your main place of work will be in the community, working in service user’s homes. The Supported Living Service does have offices based at Carrswood Day Services in Twerton Bath and Connections Day Services in Writhlington Radstock.

What You’ll Be Doing

Supporting individuals with daily living tasks, personal care, and maintaining their tenancy
Promoting independence, choice, and community involvement
Administering medication and lone working when required
Participating in sleep-ins and shift work
Collaborating with families, carers, and professionals to deliver person-centred care
Encouraging skill development and reducing reliance on support over time
What We’re Looking For

Experience in social care is an advantage, especially with adults with learning disabilities and/or autism
Diploma in Social Care Level 3 or equivalent is desirable but not essential
Willingness to work flexibly, including lone working and sleep-ins
A driving licence is helpful but not required
