Background

An excellent opportunity to join the Payables and Receivables team within the University’s Finance Directorate.

As a Receivables Assistant, you will play a key role in the team and be responsible for the delivery and development of efficient and effective Receivables services on behalf of the University. This will include all aspects of the Receivables function including the issuing of invoices and reminder letters, the timely and accurate recording of payments received from students and other customers, and responding to any queries received. The postholder will work in conjunction with the Payables and Receivables and Credit Control teams to develop the University’s Finance system and consider improvements to working practices, processes, procedures and standards in relation to this role.

You will have good IT and analytical and monitoring skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and be able to manage a busy workload and meet deadlines in an organised manner, working well within a team or independently, as required. You will understand the importance of accuracy and attention to detail; and the importance of confidentiality and customer care.


How will you work?

We are committed to supporting flexible methods of working wherever possible and this role is split between home and office working. It is expected that there will be a relatively even balance between time spent on and off campus.

We will consider your preferred working pattern but this will also be determined by the service required and the tasks/activities being undertaken.
