Summary

Digital Security and Systems Technician

What’s the Job?
We’re seeking a proactive Digital Security & Systems Technician to support the College’s core digital systems, including SQL databases, IIS/Apache web servers, VMware infrastructure, and mobile device management platforms (e.g., Intune, Jamf Pro, Google MDM).

You'll play a hands-on role in maintaining secure configurations, contributing to Cyber Essentials Plus compliance, supporting Power BI dashboards, and responding to alerts from vulnerability and SIEM tools.

This is an exciting opportunity to build experience across a wide technical stack while working as part of a supportive and forward-thinking team.

Who we’re looking for
You’ll be an experienced second-line support technician or systems administrator with a strong understanding of secure infrastructure, and a methodical, customer-focused approach to your work.

You will have:
Experience supporting server environments (Windows Server, Linux, VMware
A good understanding of web and database platforms (IIS, Apache, SQL Server)
Familiarity with Power BI and enterprise MDM solutions
Knowledge of networking basics and cybersecurity best practices
Qualifications at SCQF Level 8 or have relevant skills and experience

It would be great if you also have:
Experience with vulnerability management or SIEM tools
An understanding of Cyber Essentials Plus standards
Relevant IT qualifications or certifications in networking or security
