Summary

We are recruiting a Housing Support Worker at Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Working hours: 37 Hours
Contract Type: Full Time, Fixed Term until 30th April 2026
Location: Ty Fesen, Office Based

Team: Private Sector Housing

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a fixed term period to join our Emergency Housing Team as a support worker , working within one of our family projects.



The postholder will assist the Emergency Housing Manager with the placement of homeless persons referred by the Housing Advice Team and Social Services for interim and / or temporary accommodation and assist with emergency transfers referred by the area housing offices both during and outside of normal office hours.

For the role, we ask that you have:

5 GCSEs Grades A*-C or equivalent. Or Relevant Level 2 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework.
Understanding of the Housing (Wales) Act 2014 and the legislation in respect of homelessness
Experience of supporting various client groups, including vulnerable adults and children in an accommodation setting.
A flexible approach to working hours, including working on a rota system which will include weekends and bank holidays.
