• Location: Bilston
• Contract: Permanent
• Hours of work: 7:00 till 15:45 (Mon-Thur) & 07:00 till 13:00 (Fri)

• Salary: £28,000.00-£30,000.00 per annum (DOE)

Support a Culture of Safety, Quality, and Compliance in Heavy Industry

A well-established UK manufacturing business is seeking a proactive and highly organised SHEQ Coordinator to help drive safety, health, environmental and quality standards at its Bilston facility. This is a hands-on, detail-oriented role supporting the wider SHEQ team in maintaining compliance, improving systems, and fostering a positive safety culture in a fast-paced heavy industrial environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

Working under the SHEQ Manager or operational leadership, you’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day coordination and administration of SHEQ processes, ensuring regulatory compliance and supporting continuous improvement across the site.

Key Responsibilities:

Health & Safety

• Support compliance with PUWER, COSHH, and relevant safety legislation
• Assist in carrying out risk assessments and incident investigations
• Promote safe working practices and lead toolbox talks where required
• Help maintain SHEQ registers and ensure accurate reporting

Environmental & Quality Support

• Support ISO14001 and ISO9001 aligned systems and reporting
• Contribute to internal audit preparation and execution
• Help maintain the company’s Integrated Management System (IMS)
• Monitor actions and improvements stemming from audits and inspections

Coordination & Admin

• Keep training records, audits, inspections, and SHEQ documentation up to date
• Prepare reports for management meetings and regulatory bodies
• Communicate SHEQ updates across departments and maintain dashboards
• Coordinate contractor safety compliance and permit-to-work processes

Who We’re Looking For

• NEBOSH General Certificate (essential)
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a heavy industry, machining, or fabrication environment
• Strong working knowledge of ISO 45001, 14001, and 9001 standards
• Highly organised with excellent administrative and time management skills
• Confident communicator, capable of liaising with shop floor teams and senior management
• Experienced in supporting and understanding audits, risk assessments, and compliance processes
• Able to work under pressure, prioritise multiple tasks, and maintain attention to detail
