Summary

We are looking for a Section Engineer to join our Natural Resources team working on projects based across Kent, Sussex, and Hampshire for our 7 year, c£1bn framework with Southern Water.



Location: site based across the Southern Water patch - Kent, Sussex or Hampshire. Contract: Permanent, full-time position - flexible and part-time hours may be available if desired, just let us know



Responsibilities

As the Section Engineer you'll support various projects on the Southern Water framework and help deliver the requirements of the individual project. Reporting to the Agent, you will be responsible for carrying out the supervision and engineering support to deliver initially the Early Contractor Involvement Contract and then the Main Works Contract at a variety of projects across the Southern Water Lot 1 (Clean) and Lot 2 (Waste Water) portfolios.

Your day to day will include:

-Ensure construction records are completed including preparation of ‘as-built' drawings and schedules and Inspection and Test Records.

-Ensure records kept enabling the progress of work to be reviewed against time, quality, dimensions and quantity.

-Provide engineering support to technical problems, whilst ensuring the checking of the setting out points and benchmarks, setting out instruments and measuring equipment, test & trace equipment are being maintained in accordance with the test & inspection plans.

-Ensuring that accurate take offs, orders, delivery, and safe storages are made for materials, plant and equipment to meet the programme and minimise waste.

-Preparation of sketches for distribution on site, ensuring clear communication channels are in place for effective understanding.

What are we looking for?

This role of Section Engineer is great for you if you have:

-Experience within a civil engineering or construction environment and with demonstrable experience in the Water sector.

-Relevant qualification (Management qualification / NVQ L3 / HNC / Degree)

-Knowledge and experience of the main management systems and processes used within similar large multidisciplinary design and build projects

-Hold full UK Driving Licence
