Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of Site Manager here at Stubbington Study Centre.

We are a well-respected outdoor education facility located on the beautiful Hampshire coast. Each week during term time, the Centre welcomes over 100 primary-aged pupils for enriching residential and day experiences, with additional groups visiting during school holidays. For many children, it’s their first time away from home, an opportunity to build confidence, create lasting memories, and deepen their learning through hands-on, outdoor activities. At other times of the year the Centre hosts a variety of different types of visitors who make use of this wonderful space. The Centre features a variety of wildlife habitats, outdoor learning spaces, and play areas, all designed to inspire curiosity and connection with nature.

The Role:
We are currently seeking a committed and experienced Site Manager to lead our site team in maintaining and enhancing our beautiful 14-acre grounds and facilities. This pivotal role ensures the Centre remains clean, safe, secure, and fully operational at all times, in full compliance with health and safety standards. You’ll play a key part in supporting the Centre’s day-to-day operations, enhancing the experience of staff and visitors, and contributing to a positive, well-maintained learning environment.

What you’ll do:
- Overseeing health and safety compliance, including risk assessments and training
- Maintaining the site’s grounds and facilities to a high standard year-round
- Managing cleaning operations and ensuring high hygiene standards across the site
- Supervising contractors and supporting site development projects
- Supporting logistics for events, deliveries, and day-to-day operations
- Leading a small team of cleaning and grounds staff
- Acting as the principal keyholder and first responder for site security and emergency call-outs
- Operate site machinery and hand tools
- Carrying out and coordinating routine maintenance and minor repairs

What we’re looking for:
- Full UK driving licence
- Previous experience in site and health & safety management
- Experience managing staff and contractors
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- Good interpersonal skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude
- Physically capable of manual handling and operating equipment
- Awareness of safeguarding and working in environments with children and young people
