Summary
Grade: D £25,183 to £27,269 per annum Pay award pending.
Contract: Permanent
Role specifics: Minimum Grade C/4 in Maths and English. Level 3 qualification in Data or Statistics, as well as work experience in an office-based Data or IT role. Applicants must not already hold a level 4 apprenticeship qualification or similar at the same level or above.

The Role
This is a great opportunity to join Bolton Council as a Data and Information Assistant.
In this role you will be maintaining data within information systems, producing regular reports, analysing complex datasets and validating data accuracy. You will also be producing a variety of data and information in an easy-to-read format to our HR teams and Managers relating to our workforce, sickness absence, staff vacancies etc as well as working on government data returns and Freedom of Information Requests.
It is essential that you have experience in Excel, particularly using formulae and creating pivot tables. You will have the opportunity to demonstrate these skills during the interview process.
Applicants are required to have completed a Level 3 qualification in a data or statistics field and have work experience in a similar role.
To develop the skills and experience necessary to perform the duties of the role, the successful applicant will undertake a Level 4 apprenticeship.
We are unable to offer an apprenticeship to anyone who already holds a qualification at Level 4 or above in a data-related field.

About You
You’ll have good communication skills and be able to demonstrate a good level of accuracy and attention to detail in the work you produce. You’ll be passionate about your own development, show a desire to learn new skills and a willingness to gain practical experience in Data Management and Analysis.
Ideally you will have previously worked with large datasets and analysed information to produce meaningful reports, using Excel or a data visualisation tool such as Power BI. You will also have good organisational skills, be able to prioritise your work to meet tight deadlines and work under your own initiative.
