Vale View Primary School currently has an exciting vacancy for an effective Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) (Level 5) to work across the school. The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a primary school, covering classes and hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification and GCSE English and maths (or equivalent). You will work with our caring and dedicated team to support children’s learning and social development by providing high quality learning opportunities and care. Initially, the post will be fixed term to cover a maternity leave.

You will be an excellent classroom practitioner
You will have high expectations, excellent behaviour management skills and the ability to establish positive adult-pupil relationships
You will have a good working knowledge of the National Curriculum
You will have knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and have experience of working to support children who have special educational needs
You will have excellent literacy, numeracy and IT skills
You will be committed, motivated, enthusiastic and flexible
You will enjoy working as part of a team
You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work in partnership with parents, staff and outside agencies
You will have a sound knowledge of safeguarding
