Summary
AK Teaching, a trusted education recruitment agency with a strong presence across the North East, is currently recruiting for Unqualified Teaching Assistants to support children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in schools across Blyth. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about education and want to make a meaningful impact, even without formal teaching qualifications.
As an Unqualified Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other school staff to support pupils with a range of additional needs. These may include autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, physical disabilities, and social, emotional, or mental health challenges.
Your responsibilities may include:

Providing one-to-one or small group support tailored to individual learning needs

Assisting with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)

Promoting positive behaviour and emotional well-being

Supporting pupils with personal care or mobility, where required

Helping to prepare learning materials and classroom resources

Working collaboratively with teaching staff and SENCOs to ensure all pupils are fully supported in their learning

While no formal qualifications are required for this role, we are looking for individuals who are:

Experience working in a school or SEND setting is highly desirable. However, we also welcome applications from candidates with transferable skills gained from roles in care work, youth work, support work, coaching, or other relevant fields.
