This is a fantastic opportunity for aspiring Educational Psychologists, Speech & Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, or anyone with a genuine interest in specialist education and care.
What to Expect:
✅ Specialist experience - Work in a well-resourced school that supports learners aged 3-19 with severe to profound learning difficulties, complex medical needs, and sensory impairments.
✅ No experience needed - Full training and on-site support provided. Just bring your enthusiasm, empathy, and willingness to learn.
✅ Ongoing CPD - Free access to over 180 accredited training courses including Personal Care, Moving & Handling, Autism Awareness, Safeguarding, and Makaton.
✅ Professional guidance - You'll be supported by a dedicated consultant who understands SEN and will match you to a role that plays to your strengths.
✅ Rewarding impact - Help pupils communicate, access learning, regulate emotions, and build life skills in a calm, structured environment.
Your Role:
- Provide 1:1 or small-group support tailored to pupils with high support needs
- Promote sensory regulation, communication strategies, and engagement in daily activities
- Support with feeding, personal care, and physical assistance (training provided)
- Work collaboratively with Teachers, Therapists, and Care Staff
- Implement routines and assist in creating a safe, inclusive learning space
Who We're Looking For:
- Psychology (or related) graduates with a sincere interest in complex needs or disability support
- Calm, caring, and proactive individuals
- Those open to personal care responsibilities and physical support tasks
- A valid enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to obtain one)
- Experience with children or vulnerable adults is helpful but not essential
