Are you a compassionate and dedicated Female Care Assistant looking for a rewarding role in Northampton, NN10? We are seeking an attentive individual to provide high-quality, person-centred care to a female client with complex needs.

This role has a genuine occupational requirement for a female worker under the Equality Act 2010 due to the nature of the personal care required and to protect the privacy and dignity of the client.

About the Role:

You'll be providing intensive, personalised care to a client who requires a 2:1 care ratio and is nursed in bed. This includes assistance with repositioning, managing pain, and supporting daily routines. The client experiences:

  • Brain injury and cognitive disruption

  • Physical disability

  • Wernicke encephalopathy

  • Hydronephrosis

  • Difficulty sleeping

  • Bowel issues

  • Periods of stress, which may include screaming and being unhappy

  • Sensitive skin

While the client has difficulty with speech, they use a communication board. You should be patient and resourceful in supporting communication. Please note, the client smokes up to 10 cigarettes per week in her room.

Working Hours

  • Days & Nights: 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM ; 8:00 PM- 8:00 AM (12-hour shifts)

  • Rotating Rota: Monday to Sunday, including weekends.

  • Specific Availability: Candidate must be available 1-2 weekends for month

  • Non-drivers accepted!

What We're Looking For

  • Female applicants only (due to genuine occupational requirement).

  • Previous experience in complex care, particularly with individuals with brain injuries or physical disabilities, is highly desirable.

  • A compassionate, patient, and resilient approach to care.

  • Excellent communication skills, with an ability to adapt to varying communication methods.

  • Understanding and sensitivity towards individuals experiencing pain and distress.

  • Reliability and commitment to a rotating shift pattern.

  • Ability to work effectively within a 2:1 care team.
