Join Kingston Council’s PLACE directorate and lead a transformative housing service as our Temporary Accommodation Team Manager. You'll drive operational excellence in managing temporary housing solutions—from hostels to leased properties—ensuring they meet legal, safety, and performance standards while delivering dignity and support to vulnerable residents.

✨ What You’ll Do
Lead and inspire a skilled team of Temporary Accommodation Officers

Oversee operations across spot-purchased, leased and dispersed properties

Ensure health & safety, minimise voids, manage rent loss and landlord relationships

Collaborate across teams, services and sectors to drive forward housing strategies

Champion innovation, digital transformation, and service improvement

Support the Accommodation Services Lead and deputise when required

What We’re Looking For
Strong leadership skills and a drive for performance excellence

Knowledge of housing law, arrears, voids and health & safety obligations

Experience managing temporary accommodation or frontline housing services

A customer-first mindset with a talent for partnership working

Ability to handle complex complaints, coach team members, and manage budgets

A flair for innovation, continuous improvement and inclusivity

Who You’ll Work With
Internal: Housing, Legal, Place Directorate, Elected Members

External: Homeless households, landlords, contractors, regulators, and voluntary sector partners
