Summary
Main duties of the job The department carries out a range routine and non-routine procedures and the candidate would be expected to work across all areas of the department. The main duties would include Intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring for: - Orthopaedic spinal deformity surgery (paediatric and adult) Neurosurgical procedures of the spine (intradural -, extradural -, intramedullary - lesions, tethered cord release, selective dorsal rhizotomies) Supratentorial lesions (motor and sensory cortical and sub-cortical mapping) Brainstem lesions (cranial nerve monitoring and mapping, corticobulbar MEPs, microvascular decompressions, AVMs, visual evoked potentials). Brachial plexus surgery (SEP mapping and monitoring for elective and post-trauma cases). Neurophysiology testing/recordings including: - Routine out-patient recordings (EEG, sleep deprived EEGs and ambulatory monitoring). In-patient recordings (portable EEGs on the ward/ITU/NICU) and long term ITU monitoring. Polysomnography (PSG and MSLT/MWT)
