Summary
Clinical Duties To work within the service, applying effective clinical interventions within the specialty in line with current evidence To manage autonomously, a clinical workload of patients/clients, assessing and treating patients and maintaining clinical records, referring queries to senior To use shared-decision making to support patients to set their own goals and be confident in their approach to self-management. To have physiotherapy assessment and treatment skills in the areas listed but not limited to: Physical rehabilitation through manual therapy Physical rehabilitation through exercise and function Physical rehabilitation through pain relief: could include acupuncture, electrotherapy etc. An awareness of bio-psychosocial assessment of patients and carers Cognitive and perceptual understanding of condition/person Falls assessment Use of a variety of appropriate outcome measures To communicate effectively using non-verbal, verbal, written and electronic To liaise and develop rapport with patients/clients, carers, members of the MDT, where appropriate, and outside agencies under guidance of a senior To act, within the service, as a resource and provide advice for other professionals and colleagues within the MDT about the assessment, treatment, management and care of patients/clients with support from senior To work alongside other professionals to ensure effective care pathways To make appropriate referrals to other agencies/practitioners. To deliver programmes of assessment, treatment and intervention for patients/clients with support from senior To manage and prioritise own clinical workload as appropriate, working efficiently to manage professional time and delegate according to the training and competency levels of other team members to ensure the effective delivery of the To participate in the supervision To ensure a high standard of patient care is provided including implementing clinical standards relevant to the work To provide assessment and advice for the MDT and participate in MDT meetings as appropriate. With experience, plan and delegate workload to Dependent on Service requirements and previous experience you may be required to participate unsupervised in the out of hours respiratory on call service and weekend orthopaedic service, where needed. Once a member of staff has completed 3 years in a static out-patient role, they can opt out of the respiratory on-call rota.
