Are you interested in helping patients regain their eating and drinking skills and improve their nutritional status after a brain injury? If so, we are looking for someone like you to learn from and support our Band 7 dietitians on our 32 bedded inpatient Level 1 neurorehabilitation unit (INRU), based at Moseley Hall Hospital in Birmingham.
The INRU multidisciplinary team is passionate about supporting adults with complex acquired neurological conditions to achieve their rehabilitation goals. The dietitian is held in high regard and works closely with the multidisciplinary team to assess, monitor and maintain patients’ nutrition and hydration needs, enabling complex patients to work towards their discharge destination. Experience of nutritional support, dysphagia and enteral feeding is essential for this role. You will also have opportunity to work alongside our award-winning Nutrition Nurse team to develop your enteral feeding knowledge and practice.
This unique post is part of a community hospitals’ dietetic team which has good support from dietetic assistant practitioners. This team is part of Birmingham Community Nutrition which provide a comprehensive community citywide service for the Birmingham and Solihull ICB and employs over 70 staff. We also support the training of dietetic learners from local higher education establishments.

The post holder is expected to work with the Inpatient Dietetic Team and Highly Specialist Clinical Dietetic Lead on INRU to provide a quality nutrition and dietetic service within the inpatient neurorehabilitation service. The post holder is responsible for supporting clients on enteral feeding or oral nutrition support, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to assess, monitor and maintain patients’ nutrition and hydration needs, enabling complex patients to work towards their discharge destination.
