Are you a driven, enthusiastic graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in a secondary school? This exciting Graduate Teaching Assistant opportunity places you in a supportive Havering secondary school, working alongside passionate educators to help students succeed across Key Stages 3 and 4.

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you’ll work with pupils both in and out of the classroom—providing targeted interventions, assisting in lessons, and helping to foster motivation, resilience and achievement among students.

What You’ll Be Doing:
• Supporting teachers with lesson preparation and classroom delivery across multiple subjects
• Providing 1:1 and small group academic support, particularly in English, maths and science
• Assisting students with additional needs, including SEN, EAL and SEMH
• Encouraging student participation, engagement and positive behaviour
• Helping to prepare teaching resources and assist with school enrichment activities
• Gaining valuable insight into the secondary curriculum and classroom management strategies

Ideal Graduate Teaching Assistant For This Havering School:
• A recent graduate with strong academic background and a genuine interest in education
• Confident, proactive and able to engage and motivate young people
• Excellent communicator with a calm and professional approach
• Previous experience working with teenagers (e.g. tutoring, mentoring, youth work) is desirable
• Committed to full-time, term-time work from September through July
• Eager to gain classroom experience before pursuing teacher training or postgraduate study
