Principle Responsibilities:
To ensure safe delivery of food to the dining room and temperature recording of food, responding to food safety needs where temperature doesn’t meet requirements
To support smooth operations for mealtimes and snacks in line with standards and policies
To support the care team to serve food and drink attractively and in line with company crockery and cutlery standards
To understand and follow special dietary requirements (including IDDSI and malnutrition pathways) and ensure residents are safely catered for with their nutritional needs met in line with policies and guidance.
To follow daily kitchen cleaning rota for specified area, to ensure that high standards of hygiene are kept.
To support where appropriate in ensuring items are cleaned and replaced after service (washing up)
To ensure items of food and drink are delivered daily to specified locations in the home in line with protocols
To assist in maintaining the general cleanliness of the dining rooms/ kitchenette and hydration stations
To liaise with residents and record any feedback from them in appropriate documentation
To attend staff meetings and undergo training as required.
To complete other food safety records as required.
To report any defective equipment promptly and ensure that safe working is followed at all times.
To promote a high quality mealtime for each and every resident ensuring they have choice including the meal, use of condiments and drinks, within their dietary needs.
To support positive dignified engagement at mealtimes diets
to maintain dining standards in dining rooms including laying of tables and preparation for meal service
Health & Safety:
Report immediately to the Home Manager, or Person in Charge, any illness of an infectious nature or accident incurred by a Client, colleague, self or another.
Understand and ensure the implementation of the Home Health and Safety Policy, and Emergency and Fire procedure.
Report to the Home Manager, or the Handyperson, any faulty appliances, damaged furniture, equipment or any potential hazard.
Promote safe working practice in the Home.
General:
Ensure that all information of confidential nature gained in the course of duty is not divulged to third parties in line with the company policy on confidentiality.
Notify the home Manager, or the Person in Charge, as soon as possible of your inability to work, and also on your return to work from all periods of absence in line with Absence Policy.
Ensure the security of the home is maintained.
Adhere to all Company Policies and procedures within the defined timescales.
Ensure equipment is clean and maintained.
Carry out all other tasks that may be reasonably assigned to you.
