Location: Stockport, Greater Manchester
Position Type: Full-Time | Long-Term

Are you an experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) and complex learning difficulties?

We are looking for a committed and caring professional to join a supportive and inclusive school in Stockport.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored one-to-one and small group support to students with SEN and complex needs, including PMLD, ASC, MSI, and sensory impairments

  • Assist classroom teachers in planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons

  • Support students with personal care and mobility needs where required

  • Implement behaviour management strategies in line with school policies

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to support individual learning plans

  • Maintain accurate student records and contribute to progress reviews

  • Encourage communication, independence, and social development through structured activities

Requirements
  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant Diploma - essential

  • Enhanced DBS check (child and adult) - must be current or willing to apply

  • Minimum 1 year of experience working in a UK school

  • Experience supporting students with complex needs and/or challenging behaviour

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience with moving and handling in educational or care settings - desirable
