Summary

Extruder/Flavour Operatives

  • Location: Widnes.
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, initially 1.30pm -8pm and once fully trained 1.30pm-10pm.
  • Pay Rate: Between £12.21 and £12.70 dependant upon job role and experience.
  • Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent opportunities.
  • Start: Immediate starts available.

Acorn by Synergie is currently looking for Extruder/Flavour Operatives to work for their fmcg client, based in Halebank in Widnes.

The business is family-run and the roles have genuine opportunities for permanent contracts and progression. Experience of working in an FMCG, food production environment, food hygiene and GMP would be a distinct advantage. Training is provided.

Job Resposibilites:

  • Responsible for operating and maintaining complicated machinery whilst working to Quality and Health & Safety Standards.
  • Loading and loading maize into mixer and feeder for the extruder, setting extruder for start up, making sure settings are correct for machine operation. Understanding if product doesn't meet standard how to adjust extruder settings and it impacts the quality of product. Continuous monitoring of extruder through the day, shut down of machine and how to carry out cleaning of parts.
  • Flavouring, set up of system, startup of the process, controlling the settings and how each flavour requires different controls, Ensuring product meets quality standards constantly through the day, changing flavour, keeping a clean work area, working with the extruder operator to understand change over procedures, shut down procedures, cleaning the flavour system, the importance of cleanliness.
  • Operate speciality machinery so products meet quality standards.
  • Understanding of how operated machine works
  • Conduct periodic quality inspections.
  • Monitor machine operations and output.
  • Adjust machine as required for change overs, different functions or the varying needs of production.
  • Ensure working environment is kept clean and tidy in align with Hygiene standards.
  • Shutting down clean down of machinery.
  • Communicating with all colleagues to relay production updates or faults.
  • Ensuring all paperwork is completed neatly and as per the training standard provided

Applicants must have:

  • Previous experience of working in a production environment
  • A positive, can-do attitude
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to work as part of a team to tight deadlines
  • Knowledge and importance of food hygiene and health safety
  • Knowledge of machine practise standards
  • Ability to understand technical inofrmation
  • Ability to communicate and relay technical details to relevant parties
  • Ability to do small machine repairs and maintenance
