Summary
Plumber - Metropolitan Police Special Events ContractSalary: £34,000 base + overtimeContract: London Metropolitan Police - Special Events DivisionShift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:00Location: Office-based in New Addington (CR0), with regular travel across Greater London as requiredSecurity Clearance: Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain CTC Security Clearance due to the sensitive nature of the role.
About the Special Events ContractThis is a unique and dynamic contract that supports the Metropolitan Police Service in delivering operational and public safety services for special events across London. Activities include:
-Supporting pre-planned events, ceremonial occasions, demonstrations, and responses to major incidents
-Deploying and maintaining temporary infrastructure, including signage, traffic management systems, street furniture, and crime scene equipment
-Providing engineering and procurement services for temporary utilities such as power, lighting, and water
-Assisting with evidence preservation, access and egress management, and logistical support to ensure public safety

Key Responsibilities
-Assemble, install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems, pipes, fittings, and fixtures for temporary and minor installations as requested by the client
-Ensure the safe operation and condition of all plumbing systems
-Complete and sign off Work Orders, ensuring all documentation is returned promptly for administrative processing
-Carry out minor building works as required (e.g., drilling, making good)
-Adhere to all Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental policies, promoting a zero-accident culture
-Liaise effectively with operational teams and client representatives to ensure works are delivered to high standards
What We're Looking For
-Relevant plumbing qualifications with proven experience in installation, maintenance, and repair techniques
-Good communication and customer service skills
-Ability to work independently and use initiative
-Flexible and adaptable approach to working in a fast-paced environment
-Well-organised with strong problem-solving skills
-Full UK driving licence essential
-Willingness to undergo extended security clearance
