This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented Head Chef who has previous experience in a care home environment and is ready to make a meaningful impact in a warm, supportive and well-resourced setting.

The Head Chef will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, leading a small, committed team and ensuring the highest standards of food preparation and presentation. You’ll be central to residents’ wellbeing, developing delicious and nutritious menus tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience as a Head Chef in a care home or similar healthcare setting is essential
  • Strong understanding of specialist diets, allergies, and modified food textures
  • Proven ability to manage kitchen budgets and plan menus to suit individual needs
  • Food hygiene qualification (minimum Level 3)
  • Excellent leadership, communication and organisation skills
  • A passion for creating high-quality, nutritious meals in a caring environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the kitchen team to deliver exceptional, home-cooked meals with a focus on quality, nutrition, and variety
  • Plan and manage seasonal menus that meet diverse dietary requirements including modified textures, allergies, and specialist diets
  • Ensure full compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
  • Manage kitchen budgets, stock control and ordering in line with business needs
  • Train and support team members, fostering a positive and respectful kitchen culture
  • Collaborate with care staff to support residents’ individual nutritional needs and preferences
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records as required
