Graduate Trainee Teacher of Mathematics – Northampton

Salary: £24,921 | Full-Time | Commencing September 2025

The Role

As a Graduate Trainee Teacher of Mathematics, you will become a valued member of a committed and collaborative Maths department. Through gradual and supported involvement, you will build the skills, confidence, and subject expertise necessary for effective classroom teaching.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of high-quality Mathematics lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4


  • Lead small-group interventions to reinforce core concepts and address individual learning needs


  • Assist with lesson planning, assessment, and curriculum development alongside experienced colleagues


  • Contribute to a calm, inclusive, and intellectually engaging classroom environment

    Person Specification

    • A minimum of a 2:1 degree in Mathematics or a closely related discipline


    • A sincere interest in education and secondary teaching


    • Prior experience working with young people (e.g., tutoring, mentoring, classroom support) is advantageous


    • Strong communication and organisational skills, with a collaborative mindset


    • A willingness to reflect, learn, and grow professionally throughout the training year
