CAD Design Engineer - Sheet Metal Products
Are you a creative and technically skilled Design Engineer looking for your next challenge? We're seeking a talented individual to join our team in Banbury, Oxfordshire, to help shape the future of bespoke stainless steel catering equipment.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Operations Director and working closely with the Factory Manager, you'll be responsible for developing both existing and new products. You'll create site-specific design solutions that balance customer satisfaction with cost-effective manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and develop bespoke stainless steel products using 3D SolidWorks and 2D AutoCAD.
* Apply knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing processes including punching, folding, and welding.
* Adapt and refine designs to meet customer needs, budget constraints, and manufacturing capabilities.
* Manage your own workload and meet agreed schedules for design approval and production.
* Liaise directly with customers to ensure their requirements are fully understood and met.
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of systems and practices within the Design Office.
* Embrace innovative problem-solving and bring fresh ideas to product development.
What We're Looking For
* Proven experience in sheet metal design.
* Strong CAD skills (SolidWorks and AutoCAD).
* Excellent communication and multitasking abilities.
* A proactive, customer-focused mindset.
* Experience in catering equipment design is a plus.
