Summary

Our small but busy nursery are seeking a passionate, experienced Early Years Practitioner to take on the role of Room Lead for our Under 2s room. This post is for 4 days per week, ideal for someone who is confident in leading a team, nurturing young children, and contributing to the overall leadership of the setting.

**We are also open to exploring term time weeks, with flexibility.

This role involves both hands-on care and management responsibilities. You will lead planning and practice within the baby room and act as a key support to the Management team.

Key Responsibilities:

Act as Room Lead in the Under 2s room, ensuring a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment.
Support the Management taking on leadership duties as required.
Ensure high standards of care and early education, in line with the EYFS framework.
Lead and support your room team in delivering age-appropriate planning and engaging activities tailored to the developmental needs of babies and young toddlers.
Be a key person for a small group of children, building strong relationships with families and keeping accurate records and observations.
Support with safeguarding, health & safety, and ensure all policies and procedures are followed consistently.
Contribute to staff meetings, training, and overall development of the setting.
Step in for leadership cover across the nursery in the absence of senior staff.
Requirements:

Level 3 or above qualification in Early Years/Childcare (or equivalent)
Experience working with babies and under 2s is essential
Strong understanding of the EYFS and child development
Confident in leading a team and taking initiative
Excellent communication and organisational skills
A warm, caring, and professional approach
Desirable:

Experience in a Room Leader or senior practitioner role
Paediatric First Aid trained (or willingness to complete)
Applicants who have left the sector but are returning may be eligible for the £1,000 government incentive for returning early years professionals
