Job basics
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanic/MOT Tester to join our family run business on the outskirts of Marlborough. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge, be able to diagnose vehicle faults correctly, and sometimes work quickly and efficiently under pressure.
Responsibilities
• Conduct comprehensive MOT tests on a variety of vehicles, ensuring compliance with legal standards.
• Carryout services, repairs & diagnostics. Identify any defects or issues on vehicles, factually relay this information to the customer service advisor.
• Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Keep up-to-date with industry regulations and best practices to ensure high-quality service delivery.
Experience
• Proven experience as a Mechanic or MOT Tester or in a similar mechanical role is preferred.
• Solid mechanical knowledge with the ability to adapt to working on a variety of car manufacturers.
• Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to diagnose faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment.
• A relevant qualification in vehicle maintenance and repair (such as NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• The ability to work well as part of a team or as an induvial. Sometimes under pressure to meet deadlines.
• A full UK driving licence.
• Knowledge of automotive industry regulations and legislation.
