Summary

This role is being offered as a 12 month fixed term contract.

Salary - £36,000 per annum, plus £4,800 Travel Allowance and Veolia benefits

Hours - Monday to Friday - 40 hours per week - some work may also be required outside office hours / at weekends

Location - Croydon, Merton and Sutton - please note travel between the South London locations will be expected

What you'll be doing;

  • Manage and develop the Education, Communications and Outreach function for the Croydon, Merton and Sutton contracts, ensuring that strategic project plans are delivered to meet objectives.
  • Work with the Area ECO Manager and ECO Officers to develop community engagement projects to change resident behaviours and improve recycling rates. Maintain responsibility for the budget, timeline and quality of project delivery.
  • Act as the day to day point of contact for the client and site management team, and hold responsibility for the business as usual outputs of the team.
  • Identify good news stories and feed them to the regional digital and PR team, as well as working closely with this team to achieve regional and contract objectives.
  • Monitor industry developments and build strong relationships with your client and colleagues at all levels across the contract.
  • Drive the performance of the ECO and Social Value Officers, coaching and mentoring them to improve their project planning, community engagement approach.

What we're looking for;

Essential

  • Project development and management
  • People and budget management
  • Experience delivering behaviour change and community engagement projects and analysing results
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills including presentation skills
  • Experience of building strong stakeholder relationships and customer management
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant field, or significant experience

Desirable

  • Industry knowledge
  • Understanding or experience of working with local authorities
  • Experience of visual and textual content production across multiple formats
  • Advanced understanding of data management and analysis
  • Understanding of PR, social media, social advertising and digital communications
  • A full clean UK driving licence
