We are keen to attract Clinical Support Workers who are looking for a fast-paced and ever-changing environment. Our Emergency Departments are extremely busy; you will care for different groups of patients in Majors, Minors, Resus, Triage and The Clinical Decision Unit (CDU)We pride ourselves on having an integrated friendly and welcoming team

Some of our CSW’s go on to further develop and undertake the Trainee Nursing Associate (TNA) programme to qualify as a Registered Nursing Associate (RNA) We have a Practice Educator within the Emergency Department who will support your learning to develop within the role of the CSW and beyond. We run regular training days for your development and you will be allocated to a team led by one of the Department’s Matrons.

You must be able to work as part of a team, use your own initiative with effective interpersonal and communication skills, contributing fully as a member of the multi-disciplinary team. We will provide a supportive atmosphere, mentorship and clinical supervision on the unit and are committed to the professional development of all staff. Teamwork is an integral part of this unit with all staff enabled and empowered to make a real difference for their patients.

The role will be varied but might includeinsertion/removal of cannula, venepuncture, wound assessment and simple dressings, toileting, giving basic nursing care, undertaking ECGs and observations etc. Training and a period of supervision and supernumerary time will be given on induction.

We are looking for Clinical Support Workers who havehospital experience, this is desirable but not essential. A minimum ofGCSE English and Maths grade C or 4 or Functional skills for English/Maths, Care Certificate and orNVQ2 in health and social care or the equivalent or the willingness to work towards this.
