Summary
Leadership trainers design and deliver complex and extensive leadership development programmes, enabling the organisation to achieve its goals and individuals to fulfil their potential. This requires a full range of teaching and facilitator skills, as well as coaching and mentoring capabilities to ensure the MDP can fulfil its organisational Leadership Strategy.
Leadership trainers support the development of individuals, through assessing capabilities, identifying development needs and devising appropriate activities to enable high performance and potential progression. Within this, there is a requirement for trainers to:
Identify opportunities for and support the exploration of innovations and best practices in L&D, incorporating these into training approaches to improve the quality of L&D outputs and to support the enhancement of L&D practice across the organisation.
Use an evidence-based approach to inform the design and development of training.
Design and develop learning programmes and sessions, identifying and incorporating training and learning methodologies that meet individual and organisational needs, utilising available resources and within specified timescales.
Research, design, develop and maintain learning materials that enhance the learning and engage the learners.
Deliver training using a wide range of learning methodologies, both remote and in-person, ensuring learners are managed, motivated, engaged and supported to achieve the intended outcome.
Foster and maintain a safe, inclusive and effective learning environment to enable learners engagement and participation.
Determine appropriate strategies to evaluate levels of understanding amongst learners, and conduct appraisals to determine the effectiveness of the programme.
Analyse feedback to inform the development and continuous improvement of training interventions and overall learning experience within the organisation.
