We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Cleaning & Catering Manager to lead and develop all services within your remit, ensuring seamless and consistent delivery across Patient Services.

Based at the NHS Royal Derby Hospital, this is a pivotal role focused on upholding the highest standards in service delivery while aligning with the needs of both the client and the end users, patients, staff, and visitors.

Job Description

You will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence, maintaining compliance, and delivering a consistently high-quality patient experience.

This role requires a strong leader who can engage with stakeholders at all levels, inspire their teams, and ensure the service is responsive, compassionate, and efficient.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and support a multi-disciplinary team to deliver high-quality services
Lead and manage day-to-day operations across Cleaning, Catering and associated services
Monitor and maintain service performance, identifying areas for improvement
Support continuous change and service development to meet evolving stakeholder needs
Provide clear direction and guidance to team leaders and frontline staff
Maintain financial accountability and support budgetary controls
Understand and respond to the key challenges and opportunities within the contract

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

HND/Degree in Hospitality, Business or related field preferred; Level 3 Food Hygiene required within 3 months
Experience in a multi-site managerial role, ideally within healthcare cleaning/catering services
Proven leadership of diverse teams, including management-level staff
Strong knowledge of National Cleaning Standards and healthcare service delivery
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills across all levels
Confident in budget management, performance monitoring, and data interpretation
Ability to stay calm under pressure, respond creatively to challenges, and work both independently and collaboratively
