Summary

Acorns Children's Hospice Trust are looking for a therapy assistant to provide support within the therapies team in the provision of patient care for the in hospice setting and community setting. This includes working with individuals and groups, managing equipment and assisting with the coordination of volunteers and students. About the Role Acorns provides care for babies, children and young people, who have life-limiting or life-threatening conditions, both in our hospices and in their homes. Our care teams are part of a supportive, multi-disciplinary team delivering care packages that are tailored to each childs individual holistic needs and were structured so that youll simply have the time to care. Each hospice is purpose-built with individually decorated rooms overlooking our gardens. We try to make it as welcoming and friendly as possible a homely environment for the children, young people and their families. As Therapy Assistant, you will: Work with children, young people and families to develop and deliver treatment plans alongside Registered Therapists (eg Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, SALT) Plan and deliver individual and group sessions (including education, relaxation, and exercise) Support Therapists with assessments and interventions within the hospice and in the community Deliver, demonstrate and install equipment in partnership with NHS providers Attend and participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings and handovers to ensure the coordination of the child or young person's care About You Care Certificate/NVQ Level 2 Health and Social Care or above or equivalent qualification Previous relevant experience of working as a therapy support worker/assistant Experience of planning and providing therapeutic interventions, including group and individual work Working knowledge and training in manual handling techniques What We Offer £16,500 to £17,400 for part time hours.
