Summary
Location: York
Rate of Pay: £12.60 per hour
Hours: 4 hours per week – these are flexible with discussion.
Do you love the seaside, swimming pools, trampolines, and spontaneous car singalongs (even if it’s just humming)?
Do you have a big heart, a calm head, and a good sense of humour?
Meet Tristan
Tristan is 17, autistic, and non-verbal — but he has a LOT to say through his smile, his energy, and the way he engages with the world. He’s a sensory seeker who lives for water play, loves being out in the car, and could happily bounce on a trampoline for hours. He's not into chit-chat, but he knows how to have fun.
He needs someone awesome to support him — not a boss, not a babysitter — a calm, caring co-pilot on life’s little adventures.
Be Tristan’s sidekick for seaside trips, swimming fun, and day-to-day life
Support him in building confidence and independence
Help him navigate the world with patience and kindness
Be his steady support when things feel overwhelming
Bring a sense of fun, flexibility, and understanding every day
Skills:
A big dose of empathy and positivity
Great listening skills
Calm in the chaos, steady in the storm
Experience with autism? Great. No experience? No problem — we value attitude over CVs!
A driver’s licence would be great (but not a deal-breaker)
Perks of the Role:
Feel-good pay for doing something meaningful
Ongoing support — you’ll never feel alone in the role
Endless high-fives (literal or metaphorical)
Make a real difference, one splash, smile, and trampoline bounce at a time
If you’ve got a heart full of kindness, a car full of snacks (okay, optional), and you believe that fun is a form of care, then this could be the most rewarding job you’ve ever had.
This vacancy will close as soon as a suitable candidate is appointed.
At the time of starting their employment, the successful candidate must have permission to work in the U.K.
