AK Teaching are currently supporting a special needs school based in Hartlepool who are seeking a reliable Learning Support Assistant to support learners with Autism.
This is a college setting and caters to learners with ASD, MLD, SLD and PMLD.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience of supporting children and young people with Autism and be comfortable supporting with personal care.
The Role
- Term-Time only, Mon to Friday 8.30-15:30
- Starting September 2025
- Supporting children and young people who have Autism
- Supporting the students with their learning and wellbeing including whole class, 1-2-1 and small group support
- Supporting with any behaviour that may arise
- Occasionally supporting learners in the swimming pool
- Helping with personal care where necessary

- Be dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of children
- Knowledge of and an interest in special educational needs, particularly Autism
- Flexibility to support across a variety of ages
- Have a caring and compassionate nature
- Hold Right to Work in the UK - we do not offer sponsorship so please do not apply unless you are able to live and work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide two professional references
