Are you an experienced nurse with proficient coaching and clinical leadership skills? Join our Delegated Healthcare team as the DN Skills Trainer Lead and take on a pivotal role in shaping the future of the service within our countywide district nursing community.
This is a permanent role (37.5 hours/week) and the successful candidate will be accountable in providing a smooth running of the service, including delivery on clinical, strategic and educational responsibilities.
Main duties of the job-
To lead and manage the delivery of the District Nursing delegated healthcare process and protocol for adults across Oxfordshire.

To provide strong, integrated clinical leadership and management of the District Nursing Skills Trainers, ensuring delivery of skilled nursing care to patients whose needs are best met in the community.

To be an expert and resource on Delegated Healthcare (DHC) and Self-care process for the District Nursing Service within Oxford Health NHSFT. To act as a conduit between the integrated leadership team and the nursing teams.

To work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.

Person specification Knowledge Essential criteria- • Detailed knowledge and understanding of Oxfordshire Delegated Healthcare Protocol, processes and partners
- • Experience and specialist knowledge of long-term conditions and/or mental health illness, where clients have multiple complex needs requiring a high level of support within their own home, group home or specialist care home setting
- • Evidence of strong clinical leadership skills, which includes the ability to supervise and support a range of individuals including team members, formal and informal carers.
- • District Nursing experience
- • Delivering training packages or programmes
- • Motivational interviewing
- • Evidence of participation in service review and facilitating change in the delivery of clinical services.
- • Registered General Nurse (adult)
- • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
- • Coaching and Facilitating Learning module (senior level)
- • Teaching qualification
- • Motivational interviewing or similar patient empowerment skills
- • Extensive experience within community healthcare settings
- • Ability to deliver programmes of education
- Experience of line managing others
- Experience of service review and facilitating change in the delivery of clinical services
- • Ability to develop and sustain relationships with partner organisations and the public.
- • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
- • Evidence of leading within and across teams, including multidisciplinary an cross organisational working.
- • Ability to travel between sites and Localities
- • Ability to work in a variety of settings
- • Be required to handle equipment in line with trust standards
- • Full and valid driving licence and access to a car for work purposes.
