The Role

Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council is embarking on a 2-year Customer Experience Programme (CEP) which aims to transform how customers interact with Tameside Council. The programme will enable consistently good customer experience across all customer contact channels. The Programme Team will work closely with business areas to achieve this, making better use of customer insights to improve effectiveness and reduce avoidable contacts and demand. Where possible, the team will utilise co-production, engaging users in the look, feel and processes when designing resident facing services.

The Digital Experience Programme Manager will lead a 2-year initiative aimed at transforming the digital services offered by Tameside Council. The Customer Experience Programme aims to improve customer-facing technology by implementing a CRM solution for managing interactions and replacing the CMS to redesign the corporate website in line with Government Design Principles. Additionally, the programme will explore workflow automation to increase operational efficiency and delve into AI applications in its final stage

This role will be supporting the Head of ICT Strategy and Operations and Assistant Director of ICT & Digital and will be required to work with senior stakeholders to ensure projects and dependencies are managed. This role will also support reshaping and change projects that align with corporate plans and business priorities.

About You

As Programme Manager you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering software/hardware development projects within the Customer Experience Programme according to specifications and deadlines, including tracking development activities. You will also be required to apply your knowledge of how technology and data can help underpin improved service delivery to reshape the Council’s frontline services and workforce.

You will be an exceptional leader who will create an environment and culture of continuous improvement putting the customer experience at the heart of service delivery. You will also be required to oversee multiple complex technical projects and be responsible for the appropriate governance, risk & issue management, financial controls, change management and the smooth transition from project to business-as-usual to ensure the service are equipped to provide high quality support to our customers.
