Summary
Key Responsibilities
Assist patients with personal care (washing, dressing, toileting, feeding).
Support mobility and physical assistance (transferring, repositioning, walking).
Help nurses with clinical duties such as taking vital signs, collecting samples, and maintaining records.
Ensure infection control and hygiene procedures are followed at all times.
Maintain patient dignity, comfort, and confidentiality.
Provide emotional support and companionship to patients.
Report changes in patient conditions to qualified staff promptly.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
Previous experience in a care or healthcare assistant role preferred.
SVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or willingness to work towards it).
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under supervision and as part of a team.
Knowledge of manual handling, basic hygiene, and infection control.
