Highwood Care Home is a brand new, purpose-built facility nestled in the picturesque and historic port town of Bideford. Our luxury care home offers a warm and welcoming environment for up to 67 residents, providing Residential, Dementia, Nursing, and Respite care. With state-of-the-art facilities and beautifully designed spaces, we pride ourselves on creating a safe, comfortable, and enriching environment where residents can feel truly at home. As Home Manager, you will have full operational and commercial responsibility for Highwood Care Home. This is a service with incredible potential, and we’re looking for someone who can drive it forward – growing occupancy, maintaining exceptional staffing levels, and building trusted relationships with local commissioners.

Contract Details

  • Up to £85,000 depending on experience

Purpose-built and thoughtfully designed, the home has rapidly gained momentum, currently operating at 42% occupancy with 28 residents - many of whom are self-funders, reflecting the premium nature of the service.

What truly sets this home apart is its exceptional performance across key KPIs and its strong operational foundation, including zero reliance on agency staff thanks to a highly effective and well-executed staffing strategy. Financially, the outlook is equally impressive, with average weekly fees of approximately £1,600, supporting a model of sustainable, high-quality care. What You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience managing large, private luxury care services
  • Ideally Nurse qualified, though strong clinical leadership experience without nursing registration will be considered.
  • A natural ability to drive occupancy and manage fee performance while always ensuring safe, person-centred staffing.
  • Established relationships with commissioners and confidence navigating multi-agency working.
  • A values-driven leadership style – motivating and supporting your team to deliver care that truly transforms lives.
