Summary
Bristol Royal Hospital for Children is a specialised tertiary hospital, often taking the most complex referrals from both local and national centres and a designated major trauma centre for the South West of England.
The successful candidate will provide highly specialist physiotherapy for children presenting as outpatients, with a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions.
Due to funding, this is a fixed-term position but will offer the candidate an excellent opportunity to work within an experienced MSK/ Orthopaedic team, working alongside Consultants, Nurse Specialists, Occupational Therapists and Orthotists.
• To provide a highly specialised service that includes the assessment, treatment and management of children referred with acute and routine MSK conditions
• Assisting in the development, planning and progression of the MSK paediatric service
• To act as a source of expertise and provide highly specialist physiotherapy assessment within the MSK clinics, making onward referrals as necessary.
• To utilise specialist knowledge and assessment skills to manage a general out-patient list, seeing children with a variety of musculoskeletal and developmental conditions
• To take a lead role in the management of more difficult and complex cases
• To provide specialist advice to other members of the multi-disciplinary team and to provide clinical education and training to others within the Trust and externally.
