Summary
To support provision of a high qualityOccupational Therapy Service children and young people (CYP)with occupational therapy identified health needs in theMerton Borough.
To carry out specific assessments and interventions with children and young people as delegated by a Senior Occupational Therapist.
To carry a caseload and work independently in a variety of settings, to support children and young people’s occupational therapy needs as appropriate.
To support and work with Occupational Therapy Assistants to implement therapy programmes to identified children and young people
• To carry out standardised and non standardised assessments as appropriate and provide interventions with referred to the team in a home, clinic or nursery/school setting
• To provide written reports assessment outcomes and goals for treatment.
• To work under the guidance of a senior OT to ensure competency in using a range of practical skills (e.g. gross motor skills, coordination skills, developmental skills
• To work under the guidance of a senior OT , developing judgement and analysis skills for appropriate action to be taken.
• To devise written home/school treatment programs for children requiring them.
• To work under the guidance of a senior OT , independently carrying out visits to school or home to hand over to carers, intervention activities or programs for the child and to gain parents/carers/school’s co-operation in their intervention.
• To manage a caseload using clinical reasoning and analysis to support assessments using a client-centred approach and current evidence base to assess, treat, implement, evaluate and document OT intervention
