Summary

As the Doctoral Landscape Award (DLA) Manager, you will be responsible for designing, delivering and evaluating a new programme of development activities funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) Doctoral Landscape Award (DLA).

The programme will include activities which
* support widening participation at the Postgraduate Researcher (PGR) level within the fields of Engineering and Physical Sciences,
* support the completion of PGRs within the fields of Engineering and Physical Sciences,

You’ll be responsible for managing the funds and creating a new programme of activities that meets the aims of the award and integrated into the wider PGR development programme across the university. You’ll be continuously evaluating the programme and helping support the wider roll-out of successful activities.

You will be part of the Doctoral Development and Experience team in the Doctoral College and will work collaboratively with academic and other professional service colleagues, to support and enhance the experience of doctoral students.

You'll have the chance to work with diverse groups of experts and stakeholders across the university and use your organisational skills to support new initiatives that will drive cultural change.

About you

We are looking for someone who is:
* an experienced event organiser, who is comfortable leading and facilitating events
* excellent at organisation and great at keeping multiple projects on track
* skilled at evaluating projects and making recommendations for future activities
* able to take initiative and drive forward positive change
* motivated by the idea of making a positive difference to the development of researchers

Knowledge of the higher education sector is essential and knowledge of how PGRs are supported is valuable.

Further information

This post is offered on a full-time basis (1.0 fte) for a fixed-term period from 1 October 2025 until 31 August 2027. However, applications from those looking for a part-time role will be considered, minimum 0.8 fte.

The post will be located in the Doctoral College on the University campus where hybrid working is in operation. You will be expected to work on campus a minimum of 2 days per week. Some flexible working will be required around events.
