Summary
Your job plan is anticipated to contain 8 Programmed Activities (PAs) per week on average to be carried out on Guy's & St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust sites and includes on-call commitments. This is an outline programme and you will be expected to discuss and agree a detailed job plan including your personal and professional objectives with your Line Manager/Clinical Director upon your start date. As an organisation, we are committed to developing our services in ways that best suit the needs of our patients. This includes asking certain groups of staff to work more flexibly so that we can offer services to patients in the evenings and at weekends. We regard this flexibility as essential if we are to continue to provide first class patient care in the future. As a result, any offer of employment to a consultant post will be subject to you agreeing to work a new more flexible pattern of working in the future if required and in accordance with the provisions of the new Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust consultant contract. The job plan will be negotiated between the consultant and their Line Manager/Clinical Director at least annually for permanent or extended posts. Direct Clinical Care Activities The post holder will hold a number of Paediatric Plastic Surgery outpatient clinics per week The post holder will assist in the management of Paediatric Plastic Surgery trauma patients/cases The post holder will offer to cross cover theatre and procedure room lists when other consultants are on annual leave and will help work through the current waiting lists with the current group of surgeons. The post holder will develop some one stop treatment clinics and support the needs clinics for children in the transition age group The post holder will conduct routine ward rounds and will lead a teaching ward round with the junior staff Other Programmed Activities The post holder will be expected to be involved in the teaching programme in the department, including teaching mornings, audit and core skill training
