Summary
Maintenance Worker -Full Time- Required for our Dudley based properties
Hours: 40 Hours per week @ £14.00 ph.
We are looking for a friendly and experienced Maintenance Worker, who also enjoys gardening. The position will be responsible for the general repairs / maintenance / decoration and gardening across our Dudley portfolio of properties.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a friendly and experienced Maintenance Worker to join our team, experience of working in care services would be an advantage however not essential. This position will consist of physical and practical tasks however, it is key that you are able to engage with the people we support.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Undertake gardening duties and tend to the garden, including grass-cutting, shrubs and pruning, watering of hanging baskets & eradication of weeds of each property.
• Ensure all entrances and exits to each property are free from clutter and trip hazards.
• Complete general decoration of properties to include (not limited to) sanding, preparation and painting of walls, doors and skirting boards etc.
• Undertake the repairs of furniture and fixture/ fittings where appropriate.
• Ensure general maintenance of the properties and gardens is to a high standard.
• Maintain all machinery and tools and carry out tests and checks as laid out and required by the Group and legislation.
• Ensure that all tools and equipment used are stored in a safe place for the protection and safety of residents and staff and ensure that the storage of all cleaning and dangerous materials conform to the Group’s COSHH policy.
ABOUT YOU
We are seeking an experienced individual who can share our values.
• At least 5 years’ experience of being a Maintenance Worker / landscaper or gardener.
• Knowledge of health & safety at work, particularly moving and handling techniques and COSHH assessments
• A can-do attitude with drive & self-motivation
• Keen eye for attention to detail
• Have a friendly & caring attitude
• Have strong written & verbal communication skills
• Knowledge or understanding of the care sector
• Have a valid UK driving License
