We're currently recruiting a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a thriving mainstream secondary school in the Waltham Cross area of Hertfordshire. This is a fantastic opportunity to help students achieve their full potential in a supportive and inclusive environment.
The Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you'll provide essential classroom and one-to-one support to students with a range of additional needs. Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting SEND students in lessons across different subjects
- Helping students during break times, school trips, and extracurricular activities
- Using positive behaviour strategies to encourage engagement and well-being
- Working closely with teachers, the SENCO, and external professionals to ensure students thrive
What We're Looking For
We welcome candidates from a range of backgrounds, including education, healthcare, youth work, and social care. Ideal candidates will have:
- A positive, empathetic approach and a genuine passion for supporting SEND students
- Previous experience working with young people or vulnerable individuals
- Excellent communication skills and strong emotional intelligence
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn - full training and CPD provided
