3 Month Contract



Our Client is seeking an experienced People Consultant to join their forward-thinking and ambitious HR&OD team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference by supporting managers across a diverse service area, driving people-focused change, and contributing to our transformation journey.
As a People Consultant, you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive HR&OD advice, managing complex casework, and supporting a wide range of initiatives including organisational design, people development, wellbeing, diversity, employee engagement, performance, and reward.
Key Responsibilities:



Provide trusted, legally compliant HR&OD advice to leaders and managers.


Lead and support projects that improve people practices and contribute to organisational goals.


Resolve complex employee relations cases working in partnership with trade unions and internal stakeholders.


Review and enhance policies, procedures, and working methods to ensure efficiency and compliance.


Deliver high-impact services and contribute to planning, business partnering, and transformation initiatives.


Build strong working relationships across the Council, promoting a culture of inclusion, collaboration, and continuous improvement




Essentials:


Degree or equivalent professional experience, ideally supported by a relevant HR qualification (e.g., CIPD).


Broad HR generalist experience, including advising on organisational change, policy, performance, and case management.


Ability to interpret employment law and apply it pragmatically in a complex public sector environment.


Excellent communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills.


A proactive, resilient, and solution-focused approach.


Willingness to travel across the county as needed.
