Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Light-RTM Lead to play a pivotal role in the refinement and delivery of our Light Resin Transfer Moulding (Light-RTM) processes. This is a key technical position, focused on improving process capability, ensuring quality, and supporting production outcomes. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in composite moulding processes, a deep understanding of Light-RTM techniques, and be able to work closely with production staff, acting as a technical expert, mentor, and process champion.
This role is focused on technical leadership within a specific area of our manufacturing processes. As a specialist in this process, you will be responsible for driving technical quality, ensuring consistent process performance, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts. This is not a supervisory role, but a position of subject-matter expertise, working collaboratively with the production team and management.
Duties
• Ensure the Light-RTM process is delivered consistently, efficiently, and to a high standard.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and the development of best practices.
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve emergent technical issues in real time.
• Mentor and support junior team members by sharing knowledge and encouraging skill development.
• Provide technical leadership in the use of injection and vacuum machinery.
• Promote a culture of care, innovation, integrity, and ownership across the team.
• Maintain a strong awareness of safety and material handling.
• Adapt flexibly to the evolving demands of the manufacturing process.
Required Skills
• Proven experience with the Light-RTM process and composite materials manufacturing.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
• Strong working knowledge of injection and vacuum machinery used in closed-moulding processes.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Mentoring skills with a collaborative and team-oriented approach.
• Flexible, proactive, and solutions-focused mindset.
Mould Ability is situated in Staveley, Chesterfield, easily accessible from junction 29A or junction 30 on the M1.
This is a full-time, permanent position, based at our Chesterfield site.
Basic hours are 08:00 – 16:30 Monday to Thursday and 08:00 – 13:00 Friday.
Overtime is available at an enhanced rate.
